THERE IS FIRE IN EVERYBODY
In the start of an Armageddon,
you can’t always see the flames—
it’s often gets turned down so low,
you can only sense the heat—a spark
can remain as a glowing ember.
When you transform the energy
of mind, body, heart and spirit,
you get a glimpse into nothingness—
seeing our interdependence, creating
compassion for yourself and others.
When the fire goes out in men,
they become swaying skeletons,
with burnt flesh on their bones.
Blind to the mysteries of intimacy,
they miss the astonishment of love—
becoming well qualified for barbarism.
Unaware of how dead they are,
immune to the blood they shed,
they’re ready to torch my house
and do many despicable things
soul-less tyrants have always done.
